Dr. Ryan Leal is originally from New Jersey. Prior to moving into the veterinary field, Dr. Leal obtained his Juris Doctor degree in Chicago and is a member of the state bar associations of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Leal is a graduate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a rotating internship in Denver, a surgical internship in Seattle, and an orthopedic research internship at Colorado State University before finally landing in Richmond at Wellesley Animal Hospital.
Dr. Leal's professional interests include surgery, ultrasound, and analgesia. Dr. Leal is excited to work with members of his new community to develop the best and most realistic treatment plans to benefit both patient and owner. When not working, you can find him hiking, camping, reading science fiction, and exploring his new hometown. He lives with his partner and their orange tabby cat, RJ.
